NVIDIA is about to make a major move into the laptop market with its new RTX Spark laptops, and the first systems are expected to begin shipping in October 2026.

Unlike traditional gaming laptops that pair an Intel or AMD processor with a separate NVIDIA graphics card, RTX Spark combines a Grace CPU and Blackwell RTX GPU into a single superchip. NVIDIA is positioning the platform around gaming, creative work and, most importantly, running artificial intelligence locally on Windows PCs.

The first RTX Spark laptops will come from several major PC manufacturers, including ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft and MSI, with Acer and GIGABYTE also developing systems.

NVIDIA RTX Spark Laptop Specs

The RTX Spark N1X will initially come in two configurations.

The higher-end version combines a 20-core NVIDIA Grace CPU with a 6,144-core Blackwell RTX GPU and supports up to 128GB of unified memory.

The second configuration is designed specifically for laptops and features an 18-core Grace CPU, a 5,120-core Blackwell RTX GPU and 24GB or 32GB of unified memory.

Both versions use unified memory, meaning the CPU and GPU can access the same pool of memory. This architecture is particularly interesting for AI workloads, where large models can require substantial amounts of memory.

RTX Spark Is Built for AI

Artificial intelligence is arguably the biggest reason NVIDIA is pushing RTX Spark.

NVIDIA says the platform can deliver up to 1 petaflop of FP4 AI performance and supports its CUDA software ecosystem, allowing developers to run and develop AI applications locally. The higher-end configuration can support up to 128GB of unified memory, potentially allowing users to work with much larger AI models without relying entirely on cloud services.

NVIDIA is also promoting RTX Spark for AI agents that can operate locally on Windows. That could make the platform particularly interesting to developers, creators and advanced users who want more AI processing to happen directly on their laptop.

RTX Spark Laptops Are Also Designed for Gaming

Despite NVIDIA’s strong focus on AI, gaming remains an important part of the RTX Spark strategy.

The platform supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing, DLSS, NVIDIA Reflex and G-SYNC. NVIDIA has also announced support from several major game publishers and developers.

NVIDIA has promoted RTX Spark as capable of delivering strong 1440p gaming performance, but actual gaming performance will depend on the laptop configuration, cooling system, power limits and game optimization.

That makes independent testing particularly important once the first RTX Spark laptops reach consumers.

Thin Designs and OLED Displays

NVIDIA says RTX Spark laptops can be as thin as 14mm and weigh as little as 3 pounds. The platform is intended for 14- to 16-inch laptops and supports premium aluminum designs and tandem OLED displays with G-SYNC.

If manufacturers can deliver that combination of portability, battery efficiency and GPU performance, RTX Spark could create a new category of powerful Windows laptops that do not need the bulky designs traditionally associated with high-performance hardware.

NVIDIA is also claiming all-day battery life, although this is something that will need to be verified through independent testing.

When Will RTX Spark Laptops Be Available?

The first NVIDIA RTX Spark laptops are expected to begin shipping in October 2026, although the exact launch date will vary by manufacturer and model. NVIDIA confirmed the October window at IFA 2026.

Lenovo has already announced the Yoga 9n 2-in-1, while other RTX Spark systems are being developed by ASUS, Dell, HP, Microsoft and MSI.

Pricing will also vary considerably depending on the configuration. The lower-powered laptop version is expected to make RTX Spark systems more accessible than the highest-end configuration, but final prices will ultimately depend on each manufacturer.

Why RTX Spark Laptops Matter

The arrival of RTX Spark laptops represents a significant change for Windows PCs. NVIDIA is no longer simply supplying graphics processors for other companies’ computers; it is putting its own CPU and GPU technology together into a platform designed to handle demanding AI, gaming and creative workloads.

The first generation will need to prove itself in areas such as software compatibility, battery life, thermals and real-world gaming performance.

But with the first RTX Spark laptops arriving in October 2026, we won’t have to wait much longer to find out whether NVIDIA’s approach can deliver the combination of AI performance, gaming power and portability that it is promising.
